Silica Revision: Construction
Are you prepared for OSHA’s new revision on respirable crystalline silica? OSHA estimates that more than 840,000 of these workers are exposed to silica levels that exceed the new permissible exposure limit (PEL), and construction employers must comply with all requirements of the standard.
OSHA announced it will delay the enforcement of the crystalline silica standard in construction from June 23 to September 23. The three-month delay will allow for more outreach and guidance provided to employers. The compliance deadlines for general industry and maritime, set for June 2018, remain unchanged. We will review the revised standard to help you understand the changes and make sure your organization is in compliance.
